The sustainability programme of the Swiss Tourism Federation combines the terms "Switzerland" and "sustainability". An interview with Lisa Arnet, Project Manager Swisstainable.

Ms Arnet, what does the Swisstainable programme stand for? 
As a concrete instrument, Swisstainable helps tourism businesses to review and develop themselves in terms of sustainability and thus become more competitive. And it creates transparency for guests who are looking for sustainable offers.

How to become a partner of Swisstainable?
All tourism and tourism-related businesses in Switzerland can register for the free sustainability programme. The prerequisite is the willingness to commit to sustainable development and to introduce concrete sustainability measures. Depending on the level of commitment, a business is classified as Level I - committed, Level II - engaged or Level III - leading.

Exactly, we are pleased about that. The shipping company for Lake Zug is classified at Level III - leading by Swisstainable. This is because they have the international ISO 9001/14001 certification and implement comprehensive measures in the area of sustainability, for example in resource consumption or with a local menu.

Do you have any personal tips for a mindful, environmentally conscious experience for our guests on board?
I myself travel by public transport for excursions in Switzerland.
