Hygge
The art of "Hygge" and "Friluftsliv".
Good things are so close, we say. A boat trip is a lasting experience, it makes you happy and inspires you.
Who invented it? Well, the Scandinavians coined the terms for a better quality of life and well-being. But what they can do in the north works just as well here - even on Lake Zug.
You probably know the Danish word "hygge": it stands for cosiness, for an inviting atmosphere, for a sociable, relaxed get-together. Loosely translated, it could also be used for a feeling of familiarity, safety, comfort, security and warmth. In other words: for a feeling that you can also experience with us on board the Lake Zug ships. Take a seat, enjoy our freshly prepared regional cuisine and the happiness of leaving everyday life on land.
And what does "Friluftsliv" stand for? The Norwegian term can be translated as outdoor life. It means staying in the open air, consciously experiencing being outside. It's a bit like when you sit on our deck and let your gaze wander over the lake and the mountain peaks all around. When you feel the breeze in your nose and blink against the reflecting sunbeams in the blue. - By the way, according to studies, we become calmer, more creative and more inspired when we look out at the water. And water sounds such as wave splashing are said to positively influence blood pressure, pain perception and emotions.
Did you know that you are travelling sustainably with us? You probably have a short journey and are travelling with us as a Swisstainable mobility partner. One of our sustainable measures is a menu with mainly regional ingredients. Enjoy it and make yourself really hyggelig. But a boat trip is also a sustainable experience because it does something to us: the time out on the water allows us to come down and recharge our batteries. – A sense of relaxation that lasts even longer. Welcome on board.
